Job description

We are looking for an experienced Automation Control System Technician with an excellent project management, commissioning & start-up and technical understanding to provide support initially to our Project Midia Gas Development (MGD) and continue during Operational phase.

Role scope

  • Inspects, tests, adjusts and repairs automation systems to ensure the correct measurement of established parameters.
  • Install, perform start-up/commissioning, maintain, troubleshoot, document and repair a wide variety of instrumentation, electronic monitoring, metering, controlling and signaling devices used in the production of goods and services

Activities:

  • Execute the maintenance program established in the maintenance plan or according to the instructions received
  • Perform routine diagnostic checks on automated systems, monitor automated systems, isolate problems and perform repairs.
  • Install, maintain, repair and calibrate automated systems according to standards or operating/maintenance procedures
  • Checks and sets operating limit parameters according to the project, technical documentation and legal regulations in force for each electronic and/or automation equipment
  • Execute emergency troubleshooting: mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic for all automated systems and related equipment. Determine root causes and errors.
  • Assist with Maintenance and Production to ensure equipment and process is in good condition, reliable, and PM’s up to date
  • Proposes troubleshooting and optimization solutions for automation installations
  • Review diagrams and operating/maintenance instructions
  • Investigates the problems encountered in the instrumentation and proposes remedial solutions and implements the approved solutions
  • Manages and corrects the electrical diagrams of automation installations
  • Works with equipment for testing and measuring the parameters of electrical installations and records the measurement parameters to ensure traceability
  • Records/reports the documentation regarding the services and repairs performed hard copy or by CMMS
  • Makes sure that the inventory of spare parts is sufficient, and the purchase order is issued in order to maintain the agreed limit stock.
  • Checks daily/weekly/monthly measuring and control equipment/instruments according to the instructions received
  • Identifies HSE, electrical, mechanical risk factors and reports when there are incident/accident risks due to malfunction or outside operating limits
  • Manages the equipment and maintains the functioning of the endowment equipment
  • Prepares planning stops and follows instructions for unplanned stops
  • Checks the integrity of the measurement and control systems to maintain the established level of security and proposes changes in accordance with the change management procedure in case of any non-compliance
  • Programming, installation, testing and implementation of automation systems application software
  • Makes sure that the works can be performed in safe conditions according to the work control system
  • Participates in training programs and maintains required certifications.

Experience & Qualifications

  • University studies completed in the field of IT software programming
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in automation for the oil and gas industry and the electricity and energy system
  • Fully competent in all AST skills and requirements.
  • Solid Understanding of Ethernet communication, Control Logix, and PLC.
  • Theoretical and practical knowledge of electronics, electrical, automation
  • Ability to understand electrical diagrams, automation and process diagrams, I / O diagrams with PLCs
  • Advanced knowledge of network connectivity, telecommunications, technology, protocols and security
  • Advanced knowledge of database maintenance and system security.
  • Troubleshooting malfunctioning components, including actuators, sensors, and control components
  • Extensive knowledge of cyber security requirements and implementation in OT
  • Knowledge of the implementation, use and maintenance of automation systems
  • Hardware / software knowledge from PLC industrial equipment; converters
  • Knowledge of working with Honeywell DCS equipment
  • Experience in documenting processes and monitoring performance indicators
  • Installation, maintenance and replacement of automation systems in production processes
  • Experience on offshore transfer from ship to platform
  • Ability to work collaboratively with multifunctional teams and employees at all levels
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Valid ANRE certification
  • Valid BOSIET
  • INSEMEX certification
  • Fluent in English both written and verbal.
  • Ms Office operating knowledge: Word, Excel
